Central offers a dynamic ministry to the youth of our community. We do this through activities and group time, as well as Sunday School and Worship for various age groups. Both Jr. High and Sr. High youth meet weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. We also have discipleship training Sunday mornings from 9:45am to 10:45am. All meetings are held at the Youth House on 900 Berkley Street directly behind the church.
During our meetings we interact through games and fellowship meals. We pray together, worship together and study God's amazing Word together. In Sunday School we gather at the Youth House after "Meet and Greet" in the church fellowship hall for a time of study and reflection. Our Youth Council, made up of both youth and adults guide the ministry through five different leadership teams:
| 1. BEING |
A subgroup whose aim is to develop the spiritual lives of the group through planned Bible Studies, Prayer, and Worship. |
| 2. DOING |
A subgroup who researches activities, events and scheduling. |
| 3. SERVING |
The group responsible for setting up Mission trips and service opportunities. |
| 4.BELONGING |
Responsible for fellowship opportunities and food. |
| 5. INVITING |
Responsible for growing the group, advertising and public relations. |
We believe God calls every one of our youth to be active in one of these five ministries.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We the youth at Central UMC desire to become like JESUS in word, thought, and deed. We commit ourselves to love, encourage and support each other everywhere, both in and outside of church settings.
We choose to be accountable to each other and the group by volunteering in one of the following ways: BEING, DOING, SERVING, BELONGING, and INVITING. We constantly seek to create an atmosphere that is both fun and exciting as we seek to honor GOD!
