Mike has served for over 30 years in ministry in the United Methodist Church. He is married to Virginia and they have three older daughters and and five dearly loved grandchildren. At Central United Methodist, we believe God has called us into action to help manifest on earth the Kingdom He has created in Heaven for our personal lives and for the life of our community. Together, we are striving to become the kind of church our Lord desires - a church that glorifies God and makes disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us as we seek to become all God has created us to be. Come try us out, I bet we will be a perfect fit for you and your family.

I believe that God has called me into the ministry of "Church Secretary." For the past 7 years, I have had the terrific pleasure of serving in this capacity. It has been such a blessing to me and my family. I have been married to same wonderful man for the last 20 years. Stan and I have three wonderful children, Caitlin, Taylor and Clayton. God has led us to a wonderful church, Good Shepherd Baptist in Christiansburg.

I have been in Church Music Ministry for about 40 years. I am a graduate, both Bachelor and Master degrees from Westminster Choir College (School of Music of Rider University) Princeton, New Jersey. A voice a major and conducting minor. As a member of the Westminster Choir I toured throughout the United States, performed with major orchestras, regularly with the New York Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestra and was part of the chorus-in-residence for the Spoloto Festival in both Charleston, South Carolina and Spoloto Italy. Highlights of this time were working with choral conductors Allen Crowell, Frauke Haasemann, Joseph Flummerfelt; orchestra conductors, Zuben Metah, Ricardo Muti, Cristian Badea and church clergy and musicians Eric Routley, Robin Leaver, John Kemp Helen Kemp, and Hal Hopson. I have done some piano accompanying and voice/instrumental coaching and have directed choirs for very small congregations and up to 1200 members. I love that church music can express our faith in such a positive and personal way. I grew up in Falls Church Virginia, spent eight years in Princeton, New Jersey and have been in the New River Valley for about 25 years.
