Central United Methodist Preschool
Philosophy: Our objective is to provide your child with a loving and kind environment in which his/her fullest growth potential will be realized.
Curriculum: The curriculum at Central Preschool centers on first-hand, direct experiences that are appropriate for young children and their unique stages of development. It will incorporate opportunities for growth and development in the following areas:
- creative art
- dramatic play
- field trips
- indoor and outdoor free play
- literature and language skills
- math readiness
- music and rhythmic interpretation
- personal hygiene and safety
- physical development: gross and fine motor skills
- science and nature
- social awareness
We currently offer the Music Makers program to each class once a month taught by Mrs. Alice Armentrout.
Once a week preschool children participate in a short devotion and music time with the church pastor.
Central Methodist Preschool is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.

Toilet training is a prerequisite for all children enrolled.

School Schedule:
The preschool day begins at 8:45am and ends at 11:45am. The school year begins the day after Labor Day and ends the Friday prior to Memorial Day. Central Preschool follows the Radford City Public School Calendar throughout the school year for holidays and inclement weather closings.
Registration is held in March for fall classes. (A birth certificate will be required on or before orientation in August)
Staff:
Central Methodist Preschool is staffed by four teachers and two teacher aides. Administration is by an on-site Program Director and the Central United Methodist Church Preschool Board.
